Combines the history of astronomy with an oddly immersive video game and the search for extraterrestrial life; Starts like a mystery, and (very) slowly builds to the reveal - the last 100 pages will fly by though, and the pay-off is worth it; Most characters are a bit flat, so read it for the ideas

Book clubbed this with a friend so ended up analyzing it a bit more than I would have if I had read it alone. The character development and sci fi content felt really rushed. There were parts of the book I really liked and would have appreciated more of, and other parts I almost wanted to skip. I’m interested to see how they adapted this into a TV show, to be continued…

First half was amazing! - the second half was kind of slow. The revelation was quite forced and did not happen naturally during the  plot, followed by a lot of explanations.
