OH. MY. GOSH.
She does it again!! The entire time I was reading this I was playing detective with Izzy, trying to figure out whodunit. But the plot twists always come...
I will say, I knew who it was, but that did not take away any suspense, especially with that VERY LAST PAGE OH MY GODDDD. The way you think its one way and Preston is just like "lol u thought." ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED. I have never been let down with one of her thrillers. I think the day she writes a bad thriller is the day the world ends lol.
Highly recommend if you love thrillers, BUT Natasha Preston ALWAYS writes a cliff hanger so beware!!
Okay, last thoughts. I really enjoyed the pacing, it was a tiny bit slow in the beginning, but the middle to end is SUCH a page turner that it is worth it. The plot was good, although I'm dying to see what this viral meme looked like, because memes are supposed to be funny, not about death lol, but I got passed that very quickly. I was a little confused on why the killer decided to just kill random popular people lol. I wish they had more strategy lol. Besides these little critiques, I LOVED IT!! Natasha, please never stop writing these, and I will never stop giving you all my money lol.
???!!! ****SPOILER WARNING FROM HERE ON OUT********???!!!
I lowkey shipped Izzy and Axel WAYYY more than I did with Tristan, even though they were both sus the entire book. I think the little blurb on the back of the book calling Axel "brooding" just made me automatically an Axel fan. But like, the way we're tricked into thinking Tristan was the only one murdering, especially because I just KNEW it had to be him.
Like making it only Axel would've been too obvious, especially with Izzy being sos sus about him the entire book, but thinking back now, having it be both of them just makes SO MUCH SENSE. I'm already wanting to go back and reread to piece things together. Although The Cabin will always be my favorite by her, this one is coming to a close second.
Also, I will never ever be happy reading a cliff hanger unless it is written by Natasha Preston. She is the only one who can do it right, I swear. ESPECIALLY this one, like oh my gosh. You go like 20 pages thinking it was only Tristan, and then LITERALLY LAST PAGE Axel is thrown into the mix. Like WHAT THE FUCKKKKKK. I just cannot even describe how I gasped when that happened, like FOR REAL. I've been reading way too much dark romance bc that was hot asfff. Lowkey giving The Darkest Temptation vibes :P

Character - I liked all the characters but one. Even if I suspected someone to be the killer... they were still pleasant characters. But that one... unreasonably illogical.
Atmosphere - Nothing spectacular about the mood or setting. Placed in a normal small town where there was a serial killer present. And a lot of snow storms.
Writing Style - This was normal as well. It was easy to understand. But also no impressive language.
Plot - I loved the storyline. I had my guest of the killer. But that ending plot twist sort of "broke my heart" lol jk.
Intrigue - I couldn't put this down. There wasn't any dull moments.
Logic - The MC's allegations of who they believed the killer to be was nonsensical. I know they are high school students, but it's as if they always wanted to find something wrong about this person.
Enjoyment - Despite the naive character, this book was really good. I couldn't put it down. Its like I needed to know who the killer was.

SUCH a good premise. I feel like it would make a good horror movie. It definitely felt very YA, in that Izzy’s character definitely felt like a child. A bit repetitive and pretty predictable, but still fun.
i really wanted to like this book but i just couldn’t no matter how long i read it. i’m not a huge fan of books that have modern terms and examples of everyday life like mentioning tiktok and instagram, it just kinda messes up my ability to escape to a different world while i read. the idea of the book was amazing but it was just executed a little off. i however absolutely loved the ending, and i would recommend this book to younger audiences, but for me i don’t think i’ll be reading it again, or any other books written by this author unfortunately
OKAYYYY I DIDNT EXPECT THAT ENDING
so my friend lent me this book because she recommended it to me and honestly its not rlly my thing like the premise is interesting but i dont get how a simple post with a question is a “meme” and the high school drama was lame
izzy was honestly fine but by the end she was slipping and so was the pacing cuz honestly i thought the pacing was good
the characters are lame for the most part and rlly stupid, the “fear” more like the “corny” like man shut ur ass up
the writing isnt much of my style but it was still alright
whatever happened to mariella????? her name is pretty but man FUCK THIS HOE i was hoping she’d die!
pretty decent overall i did like reading it for the most part
3 stars

cool concept but izzy was kind of annoying, the writing wasn’t great, and the ending was bad
For a YA triller, it was fun! And the twist at the end was unexpected. I enjoyed it.
