This was a meh book. The concept was good but it was just executed poorly, if you removed the whole fear meme thing it would not affect the plot at all. For a thriller I didn’t feel any tension.

The plot twist at the end made absolutely no sense.

Lastly the characters really just weren’t there. They felt really surface level , so when certain moments happened where your supposed to have a big emotional reaction you just feel nothing.
So I would not recommend
I think the killer should have been Justin cause i think it would of fit the ‘outside it looks perfect but behind closed doors I’m suffering’ narrative because honestly what was the purpose of his character, he was just annoying and his attitude was all over the place. The explanation of the fear death thing made no sense to me and extra plot twist just made want to throw my phone cause what was the of making Axel seem this the killer when we already have a killer and it looks like they weren’t working together. What a disappointment

I saw this book on booktok so thought it was popular and good, and it wasn't. the plot had potential but the writing was bad and it was so confusing, lacked details, and the plot twist everyone is talking about is not a plot twist because the author literally tells you it's tristan and axel on the back cover.

holy fucking cow! This is the second book of Natasha Preston I've read and let me just say that she never disappoints me with her plots. I love thriller with a passion but normally I'm not able to find any thrillers where you don't immediately find out who committed the crime or is spoiled for me. I highly recommend giving Natasha Preston a try because I can say without a doubt I will be buying another of her books.
