When I grabbed Bad Romance at the library, I was rushing and it was totally random. I just read the summary of it, and I just grabbed it. I didn't have expectations other than it better be good. Lol. Bruuhhhhhhh, it is everything. I am so happy I grabbed it off that library shelf. I really don't want to turn it in the library, like I just want to keep it forever. Bad Romance is about Grace and her tumultuous relationship with Gavin, the boy she dreams of. It started out all beautiful and innocent, and then the rollercoaster came. Grace comes from a very difficult family. It's all crazy. What I love most about this book is how Grace is narrating it. That is what really got me into loving this book because for many years I never read a book that could do that, as in have the character narrate it so realistically and honestly. As you get more into the book, she gives hints of how the relationship will go sour.
I truly love this book and I can't express it enough. I couldn't put it down. It goes to show that, self-love is the best love. When you realize your worth, you won't settle for shit. You won't settle for anything less than what you truly deserve. I felt that if Grace practiced that, she probably would have left Gavin more sooner. This book also confirmed my sentiments of being alone and enjoying myself and my youth, than waste it on being miserable with someone I so call love. It's not worth it. Life is way to short. Period. If this book alone can teach me so much, I'm pretty sure it can do the same for the next person. I recommend this book to everyone! This book is definitely on my #1 Top Five lists.

So I stayed up late and got up early to finish this. It was a difficult read but therapeutic in a way. It’s incredibly well written and my heart just aches at it all. Love yourself.
Though staying with Gavin was harder than anything with his insecurity, doubtful attitude yet Grace loved him so much to never leave him. She did not want to leave him. So much happened. So much. And how did she cure her and her crazy lover? How did she fight with herself to be herself? How can you unlove someone whom you love so much? Could Grace do it? Did she fix Gavin? That you can know once you read the whole novel.

Phenomenal.
I got this book because my school librarian recommended it to me.
I finished this book the day I started.
It’s so RAW. So deep, real, unapologetic. So emotional.
A must read for anyone who’s looking to get a new perspective, because trust me, you won’t be the same person when you flip the last page.

3.5
I have to start by saying the writing was AMAZING. I really love how the author wrote the narrative. It was really amazing.
The story in itself is one I think EVERY girl (of age), and mother of daughters should read. I think it’s an eye opener as to how abuse starts. As a survivor of emotional and mental abuse, i think it’s important to understand that abuse doesn’t just mean being hit, or being sexually abused. Abuse is verbal, abuse is mental. Abuse is abuse, and this book gives you a front row seat at looking into how it all starts.
That being said I kind of felt like something was missing. What? I’m not entirely sure. But I felt like the author was setting me up for something catastrophic, and then it kinda just ended. So I felt like something was missing.
If I were to base my rating on the writing alone it would’ve gotten 5 Stars. Love this author and will definitely read more from her!
Bottom line it was a good story, a real story. You should definitely read it.

I didn't like this as much as It Ends With Us, but this book covers such an important topic and I'm glad it exists.
This was a tough read, but really well done. I was hesitant to start it, knowing that it was going to be about tough stuff. It was a bit tough to get into at first, but then I couldn't put it down. The ending "happy." I can't really stop thinking about how horrible Grace's mom and the Giant were though-- it seemed like a lot of awfulness for one teenager. Also- it was clear that Gavin had some SERIOUS issues, I did wonder about him. I mean he was the villain of this story, but he was also just a teenager and it made me start wondering about what it means to be a bad person versus just being a person that makes bad choices. I don't know. I'm sure that Demetrios didn't want me to be wondering about Gavin after reading the book, but there you havei t.
This book really had me at hello- by that I mean that first sentence. Really a great first line. Probably the best line in the whole book. It took entirely too long for Grace to become self aware. I think the book could have been shorter. I think the interactions were a little shallow, I kept waiting for more tension, but it was never there. It became tiresome reading the same thing over and over. I know that was part of the point but it was tiresome to the point of boring.
I did read the entire book, but I had the feeling of being let down at the end. It was ok, but I'll be donating my copy to somewhere. It's not going on the special shelf.
