LOVED this book. Could not put it down. Was such a refreshingly new idea (to me) and just ate it up. I’m usually a mate-trope girlie but I didn’t need it with this one. Enjoyed a both strong at times weak at times FMC which was a nice break from what seems like an either or decision with most authors I’ve been reading. Rarely think about rereading books nowadays but definitely would reread this.

This book offers a refreshing story with a delightful touch of romance. While the chemistry between the main characters is undeniable, I found myself wishing for a deeper exploration of their relationship. The male lead's intense feelings for the female lead seemed to appear suddenly, leaving me curious about his perspective. Nevertheless, I look forward to the next books in the series, hoping to gain more insight into his character and motivations

I found the concept very interesting, but the prose and execution weren't to my taste. Leda fluctuates between having agency and not almost every chapter, and a lot of the largest plot developments are other characters acting to harm or protect her. The plot happens To Leda, rather than she being a narrative force. Most of the characters were fairly one-dimensional, and any attempts at multifaceted characters were done through dialog.
