5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️& 1.5🌶️. So, firstly the narration of this audiobook has a questionable “Irish” accent. So that’s kinda annoying. The story however I loved! It’s basically a rapunzel kind of retelling. It follows tropes like forced proximity and soulmate type bond. It’s a short story so it’s pretty insta-love so if that’s not you thing then it might not be for you but the story is good.

*Minor spoilers ahead*

Princess Marigold is trapped in an enchanted castle time loop that repeats the same day over and over. And it turns out it’s been 600 years. Everyone who enters after the legend of the magical valuable flower ends up trapped and is erased from existence. So when Lance enters… Princess Marigold tries not to get attached. But the two instantly connect, and their attempts at resist are inevitably futile and they “ahem” come together. It’s not that spicy with just two scenes and it’s fairly mild. As I said the plot was really good for a short story and I really enjoyed it! It has an adorable HEA. I only wish it was longer! Or had a direct sequel.

Omg I loved this so fucking much! The hero reminded me so much of Eugene from Tangled. I loved every character, the story, the adventure, the romance, the spice, the humour. From start to finish this book was perfect!

Kissed by Magic is the first book in the series Passion & Promises. This is a great book if you are looking for a fun Paranormal Romance comedy. It has a Princess that has been trapped in an enchanted castle because of a curse and a knight that is determined to leave the castle. The book was amusing and had a lot of humor. The author does a wonderful job with describing the castle and makes the reader feel like they are standing in the castle themselves. This is not a type of book I normally read but I was won over by the wonderful descriptions and the humor.

See this review and more on Books and Ladders!

I liked the mix of magic and technology in this one! I thought it was a really cute way of looking at the time loop/Groundhog Day situation (which is one of my favourites) and the conclusion was really cute. I would have liked this to be a bit longer but it definitely left me wanting more!

DNF in first chapter. Too much swashbuckling spirit and not enough sense.

Too terrible to continue. DNF at 20%, and won't be reading this author again.

I'm such a sucker for fantasy romance, but I often come stuck when the author goes overboard in either area at the expense of the other. This struck a marvellous balance, even more impressive given that it's novella length and it's hard to do romance well when pages are limited.

I really enjoyed the setup, Lance and his adventuring ways ending up in a cursed magic castle, and the relationship with Marigold was beautifully drawn, as was her plight and how she dealt with being a lonely prisoner for 600 years because phew, she handled it much better than I would have.

I needed some fun and this fit the bill perfectly, looking forward to reading more by Erica Ridley.
