I loved it - Katee Robert makes such interesting worlds! While I understand   that the ~spice~ and romance is the main point of this book, I wish she would go more in depth into exploring her worlds and characters she creates because they all have so much potential!

A fun book, and my first monster romance. Don’t think this series is for me, but I can see how others enjoy it.

Despite two stars, I enjoyed this book. The author lists the tropes and Content Warnings at the beginning, which I loved because it meant nothing unexpected. Honestly read a bit like a fanfic because of that though (not that that's a bad thing!)

Super simple story, a bit too short and I was a little disappointed in the bedroom scenes. The main characters was a bit quick to jump into this relationship which I found a bit unrealistic given her history, but also she married a dragon so who cares.

Fun read, check the warnings!

This is the third or fourth thing that I've read from Roberts now, and I think what I'm realizing is that I really love her ideas, but I don't really gel with her execution. I always want to pick up her books because the synopses are so interesting to me, but when I actually read them I'm inevitably let down.
With this book in particular, I liked the concept a lot; However, I think this particular narrative would have worked better as a full-length novel father than a novella. As it stands, everything felt really rushed, and it was harder to care about the characters or their relationship because of that. Further, this is another instance where I feel Katee Roberts fails at world building. I really had issues with that in Neon Gods and I have the same issues here. Perhaps it's because I'm primarily a fantasy reader, but I feel like her world building is always the thinnest veneer over the stories, and it leaves me with so many questions. Things just feel so shallow and not fully realized. The glimpses of things we get are relatively interesting and have some potential, but nothing is ever followed through on and the world is incredibly hard to picture or sink into.
Overall, it's just a very meh book despite it's gorgeous cover and really cool set up.

I've done it. I've girl-bossed too close to the sun in my smutty book exploration. Did I enjoy it? I don't know. I was disturbed. But intrigued. But cringed. A lot. But also, he was so sweet? But then very much not so, also. Um. Well. It has been read, and perhaps the open-ended question of what is Azazel doing and the introduction of Eve (???) might be enough to bring me back for book two.

My first Katee Robert read and it was fun but obviously not life changing literature. I enjoyed reading it and the story was surprisingly cozy given the genre. Smut was good, although the breeding/pregnancy trope is not my preference. I agree with other readers that the end felt rushed.
