Nope, way too weird. He literally has a dragon snout so that when he's going down on her his top teeth dig into her stomach and his bottom jaw into her ass. And his tongue is thick like a dick!? Ew weird. I just think this world is too weird too. A separate realm divided into 5 territories (dragon, kraken, succubae, and forgot the other 2) but semi-governed by demons (who just want peace between territories, and who make bargains with them to maintain that). Only the demons can bring humans into this realm. All of the beings want to breed with humans because that's how they stay magical? So there are like different degrees of beings. A half-dragon/human will be like the most magical. But some dragons didn't interbreed so they're the huge real dragons.

I mean…..it’s monster smut with a hint of storyline lol I love Katee Robert so much but this isn’t my favourite by any means. For a cute quick little romance book it was good but heavily focused on the smut and not much for plot.

I wanted to like this book, but the chemistry was not there for me. The main characters never really talk about much besides sex, which made their dynamic just.. flat and uninteresting. plus, the fact that the setup is that the contract is for 7 years and then the story is over in a month.... Not it.

This is a short, easy read that is suited for a reader wanting a steamy yet fluff story to breeze through. The spice is pretty tame for a monster romance in my opinon, but it is largely a sweet/romantic story so it suits the tone of the book. The glimpses of world building were fun and interesting, but underdeveloped while the ending felt both rushed and anticlimactic. There was also a very irritating marketing ploy of having to subscribe to a newsletter in order to read the epilogue. All in all, it was a quick but largely forgettable read.

For my 2023 rating system I gave this book 3 stars. I wanted to give this book a try because let's be honest, I was of course curious. The spicy scenes were there, which is literally why I got the book. The plot was... not really a plot. Briar's actions and the things she said a lot of time didn't really make sense but did help push whatever semblance of plot was in this story along. Forced marriage trope is always a good time though. Overall, I hesitate to recommend this book unless kinky monster stories are your thing... and then I would say give it a go because it was interesting.
