I thought this was a fun concept, and I liked both Briar and Sol as characters. 

My only issue with this book is that it felt short and I could have seen this being really fun as a longer book with a more developed plot and a higher ratio of plot to spice. 

Overall, very steamy and worth a read.

The book starts with Briar escaping her abusive husband, who is killed as part of her agreement with a demon. Discussion of her ex and her experiences come up throughout the book as she and Sol begin to work through them. There is a lot of talk of pregnancy and getting pregnant as a part of the sexual content, but during the timeframe of this book, Briar has no intention of being pregnant. Finally, this book has a large amount of sexual content. This can get consensually violent involving gentle biting (at least as gentle as a dragon can be) that still leaves puncture marks and some occasional blood. They do stress that everything is healed after.

honestly chapter 17 and 18 were crazy. I was told the smut is gooood but I didn't expect it to be that good. Sol was so hot in those smut scenes. Honestly one of the best primal kink smut scenes I have read yet.

Tbh I'm a bit sad bcs I wish this book was longer. Definitely a one day sitting kinda book. This is the kind of book I wouldn't have minded having 500+ pages.
Anyway I don't regret picking this book up. <3

As this was my first foray into monster romance, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. There’s surprisingly intricate, rather fascinating world-building, as well as Katee’s trademark fierce girl protagonist and a romance that’s delightful both including and beyond the spice. Briar and Sol had slight “Persephone and Hades in Neon Gods” vibes, which was a nice touch since that’s one of my absolute favorite Katee books.

I loved Briar’s character development, and especially cheered her on when she confronted Azazel—that was COMPLETELY iconic of her. I’m happy that she and Sol are happy, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series; from what little I’ve seen of the other characters, their stories are going to be just as entertaining.
