This was really good honestly. The writing was good especially during certain times 😉. It was a little short for me because I wanted more interactions with them. I did like how she started to deal with her trauma and I thought it was well done. I do have to say I’m not a big fan of the monster romance but he was more humanoid so it wasn’t that off putting. I also loved how there was an asexual character as well as nonbinary characters.

Free of unnecessary drama. There is a little. It doesn't drag out though, which is nice. There isn't much substance to the story, but there are some parts of the characters that are relatable. They are also likeable and sweet.

I think monster romances aren't necessarily for me. I certainly didn't hate this story -- the characters were cool and I actually really liked the dynamic between the two love interests, and the sex scenes generally were spicy and fun -- but man, the dragon-man thing really would pull me out of it - haha! It just distracts me, I guess.

I did enjoy the element of the heroine healing from an abusive, traumatic relationship -- I can unfortunately personally relate to that, and to the wild notion of being able to truly, genuinely feel safe with a man and being shocked to feel that way. But since it was a novella, that element wasn't explored quite deeply enough to be super profound, for me personally.

Honestly, I really enjoyed this! It gave me the same kind of feels that the wicked villains series did. And it felt slightly nostalgic as well as very sexy and deeper than you would anticipate monster smart to be which seems to be a key factor in Katie Roberts is writings and I love her creativity and I love her willingness to explore the kinky and dirty and the things no one else typically likes to talk about. And she provides really great content add a really incredible pace. I just love her work and I love her and I can’t wait to carry on with this monster series :-)
