A little bit too long for Melanie at 14 months old, but it has a lot of things to talk about in the pictures and a lot of interesting concepts.

I got this for my 1 yr old who has shown far less interest in books than his big brother did. We were off on holiday and I felt he needed something for the flight. Turns out we've just been giving him the wrong books.
He loves it, points and grunts at it, says 'book' at bed time, naps and whenever else he sees it. He likes pointing at the sheep and especially loves the 'near sheep' page. We read [b:Goodnight Moon|32929|Goodnight Moon|Margaret Wise Brown|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1439223893s/32929.jpg|1086867] every night for 8 bloody months to my oldest but I'm finding this far more enjoyable.
The rhyming is nicely handled, the pictures are vivid and it's the perfect length. Good choice me.

This a sweet, simple, colorful book perfect for pre-schoolers. In the beginning I had my doubts of the moon sheep and the bed sheep, since it isn’t grammatically correct. But after seeing my four-year old fall in love with the book, and read it to herself (more like recite from memory) any concern I had faded away. Each page just has a short line with a complementary picture, this works great for kids taking that first step into reading. After every four sentences the question “where is the green sheep” appears; this will keep kids turning the pages hunting for that elusive green sheep.

Not the most scintillating tale (even for a board book), and yet somehow I’m very fond of these sheep. They seem to lead such adventurous lives!
Preschool reading at school library. The kids loved it.
