Surprised, Not all alphas are alpha-holes!
I was surprised by this book. So far many omegaverse books (I’ve read in my limited experience) have featured MC’s that aren’t my cup of tea, and betas that are just…awful. I enjoyed this team and the actual SciFi story around it. I don’t usually stick around for HFN type stories, but this one was well written and I’m actually gonna read the next ones.

I actually read the original fanfiction this is based on. I went looking to re-read it and it was deleted because it was turned into this series. That's how I came to find this book. I see the essence of the original story in this one. The characters are different, the world is different but the core is the same. Did I still try to picture the original characters? I confess I did. It didn't really work. The original or the new, I still enjoy the story.

I really enjoyed this story. Sexy and firmly grounded in a scifi world that felt part of the story vs being a mere setting. There were some abrupt shits in tone from the romance and relationship between Azure and Tor to the scifi based plotline that was being developed, but both fit well together. I think it did a really great take on the Omegaverse trope.
