As they say “like Succession but real life”. Full
Of pretty horrible people- rich, powerful, greedy, nasty and then misogynistic and just awful.

I just can't. DNF about 1/3 of the way through this. Poorly written. A book with no redeeming value unless you enjoy reading about a manic, unstable, horny, incredibly wealthy old man (albeit generous to young women), along with a trove of unscrupulous sycophants surrounding him.
This had to be the family that Succession was based on. I liked it. Felt repetitive at times but holy moly... to read about how nutty this family was. Entertainment at its best.

Reads like fiction, fact that it’s all true is mind blowing!
This book was very well-researched and well-written and I couldn’t stop listening to it. However, it has, once again, confirmed my worst fears about the rich and powerful and left me drowning in cynicism and resentment. So, that’s fun!
Still, if you’re interested in things like organizational psychology, corporate intrigue, and abuses within systems of power you will appreciate this book. Or, heck, if you’re interested in “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” there’s still plenty here to captivate you. It’s just…. So messed up.

This bills itself as a real-life version of "Succession", but it lacks the show's dark humor. Rich people I don't care about, being slimy and greedy and CYA in the face of serious sexual assault allegations. I sped up the audio at the end just to finish it. Gross.
