This is such a cute book and brought back even more nostalgia. Definitely some important lessons I want my son and daughter to learn in here. Fun read!

I liked the ending.

Every once in awhile I go through my 'read' books to see if there are any that jump out at me as needing some sort of review.

This is one of those books.

If you love dragons, princesses, kick-ass heroines and in general the types of books that Bob Munsch is known for, you should check out this book or read it to your kids.

This book appeals to the feminist side of me, undoubtedly, but it's also funny and is a good way to show little kids that the princess doesn't always need to be rescued, and the prince isn't always an amazing dreamboat!

Definitely recommend.

I’m rereading some of the stories I grew up with as a child. I particularly remember feeling very empowered when I first read this book as a little girl. Even now, years later, I still love this quirky tale!

"You look like a real prince, but you are a toad."

Move over Beowulf, there's a new dragon slayer heroine in our midst, and her name is Elizabeth.

Princess Elizabeth thinks she's got her future all worked out until her Prince is snatched away by a fire-breathing dragon who scorches the kingdom to ashes.

Undaunted, "Princess with a brain" uses her cunning to play the dragon at his own game, thereby saving her prince from being the dragon's breakfast.

But... what will happen next after our heroine rescues her Prince?

It seems the unfortunate Prince is not such a tasty morsel after all. 5/5 stars

Read an old used copy of a classic to my baby in the wee hours of the morning today. I hadn't read it in years and it was just as great as I remembered. The ending where she tells off the prince (who she rescued from a dragon!) for criticizing her not looking like a princess anymore is hilarious. "Ronald you are a bum." Hahaha. Also love how she outsmarts the dragon. Dressing up as her remains my best Halloween costume.
