I loved this book! My 5th grader chose this book for a school project and I read along too. I enjoyed the three main characters, William, Edmund, and Anna, and reading about their journey to find their forever family. A couple of the chapters towards the end had me tearing up about their story/journey and thinking about the journey of other children during WWII who were sent away.
The cover is so cute and beautifully done as well. I'm glad to have added this book to my shelves. It would definitely be a reread for me - maybe around Christmas. And, I just checked the author's website and saw she has a new book coming about in September and I look forward to reading it too.

This book was a delight. From its bookishness to its sweet characters to the bits of humor amidst a difficult time, it sucked me right in. Despite dealing with hard times, it didn’t cease to be hopeful. The concept of the library as home was a very dear one and couldn’t imagine a better librarian than Mrs. Müller. Book club discussion at a British pub only made the experience even better.

This book has a beautiful story of 3 children searching for a home. A real home, with "proper adults", who love them. It was heartwarming and even funny at times, despite the time when the novel took place.
I don't really know why I'm on a streak of reading children's book though, lol...
