This one had so much angst, like oh my fucking god. I believe this volume is supposed to be the end of the story, and volume 4 contains a lot of smut (I fucking hope it does). So yeah, keeping that in mind, all three volumes were so different? Different in the sense that it felt like all three of them had a clear direction in what they wanted to achieve. Like volume 1 did a great job at world-building and making us fall in love with all these characters. Then volume 2 progressed more with the plot. I personally loved how exciting volume 2 was for me because I had watched the donghua, so half of the plot of volume 1 I already knew. But I cannot get over how much fun I had reading volume 2; it was so good, omfg. Alas, getting to the third volume, it was filled with soooo much angst. There were sooo many sad parts in this volume; everything was so good. I dunno how else to describe it other than I absolutely devoured all the volumes. (I hope I get my desired amount of smut in the next volume though)
