Super refreshing novella featuring Julie and some fun mythology. We also see some characters from other novellas return and I really appreciated that. The character development in this series/world remains one of the best I’ve read.

Cute little mystery story. Julie sounded like a mini Kate here though, complete with her own mini version of Curran, so not a fans of that, but have instantly adore her friends and I enjoy the magic school atmosphere a lot. Would like a continuation of her own series with the school and the gang. Hope Derek will be a feature there, though.

Okay I hadn't marked this one as read, but I now remember the story. I love it. It's exhilarating seeing Julie start to become more sure of who she wants to be.

A really good novella showing Kate's Ward, Julie, during her first solo case.

Julie has been more background than a lot of supporting characters in these books. This is the first time I feel a strong sense of who she is and how much she takes after Kate. I love both her and Kate’s growth as it’s shown here, the loaner girl from the streets is coming into her own. (Kate isn’t really in it but still gets to show some of her newly developed sneaky mom type skills.)
