The Space Boy graphic novel series gets better and better and I find it hard to put down now. I've enjoyed Vols 1 - 12 very much. They were put together in Omnibus editions 1 - 4. As I searched for Omnibus 5, I discovered to my angst that it would not be released until March of 2024! WAIT 6 MONTHS! Egads! So, because I couldn't wait that long (and who could blame me), I discovered that Vols 13 and 14 were already available. I received them a day or so ago and then with anticipation decided to read #13 this morning. 😁 Happiness.

As I started off this review, the story gets better and better. Amy is now a 'prisoner' at FCP HQ in Santangeles (combo of Frisco and Los Angeles.) Langley, the 'evil' head of FCP has made a deal with Amy, letting her join FCP so she can keep in contact with Oliver, aka Space Boy. Qiana is tasked to show Amy the ropes and she does so reluctantly. Back home, the police are investigating the captured robot and FCP responds destructively.

Amy continues to learn about FCP, meets up with Dr Kim. He gives Amy the means to communicate with Oliver who is flying ever closer to the Artifact. Qiana has her own issues. Her mentor has disappeared, supposedly transferred to a new job (a euphemism for a more drastic action). She struggles with loyalty to FCP and her maybe friendship with Amy. We don't see much of Amy's friends back home, except Cassie, still in hospital after the incident at school.

It's a fascinating story, many subplots, wonderful characters and great artwork. I have Vol 14 beside my bedside table and probably will be unable to resist it. Great series, excellent for young adults and also adults. Check it out. (4.5 stars)
