I thought for a second I was going to be a Josh Chen hater, but if Jules can forgive him then I forgive him. ☺️

This book was quite literally very unexpected. I had knowledge of Josh Chen haters, but never heard much about the story itself other than it is the only one in the series that has been marked 21+. This story was an emotional rollercoaster and I loved it so damn much.

The characters I feel started out unlikeable, but very soon after getting into the book LOVED them. The banter, the romance, THE ENEMIES TO LOVERS…. *screaming*. I sped read this book and could not put it down. Of course Ana had to throw in some true crime moments for drama, which I am always here for 😌🙌🏼

Of course Jules and Josh are definitely my favorite type of relationship dynamic, can we take a second to appreciate the friendship rebuild of Josh and Alex? So wholesome!

Overall, if you thought about skipping this book, definitely do not!

I found this book to be my least favorite of the Twisted series so far (I have not read Twisted Lies yet). I think these characters just fell flat for me. I didn't really see much character development other than changing their views on each other/relationships. I feel like the relationship between Josh and Alex in this book had more depth than the main characters' relationship.

Typically books like this make me feel something. I didn't really feel any emotions for either of these characters throughout their various situations. I will say, I enjoyed the last 8% or so of the book, the ending was nice.

This book isn't terrible by any means, it just didn't grip me and consume my thoughts like a lot of books do. Alex and Ava from book one still live in my head rent free from time to time. It just missed a lot of marks for me.

Also regarding Josh doing the unforgivable thing:

He reacted exactly the way I expected him to given what we know about his history and his feelings about it. I don't feel like Jules "forgave him too quickly" because how he reacted made sense and she knew she fucked up in the first place. Is what he did really shitty? Yes, of course. But she also did a pretty shitty thing so I think they're even in that regard. I'm not sure why everyone made such a big deal about that part in their reviews because honestly none of it was shocking/appalling to me. If we want realistic characters we have to expect them to act in ways that we do not always agree with.

Enemies to lovers, forbidden romance,  and single bed tropes are featured in this extra steamy romance. The characters really grew on me over the course of the story and their romance was spicy and sweet at the same time. I stayed up way too late to finish this one!

Man, this book had quite the hill to climb in my eyes. Jules and Josh are two of the most annoying characters I've ever read, so I'm thankful they stopped bickering relatively early in the story. Speaking of early on, Jules insults the size of Josh's genitals several times. A little odd already, but given that Josh is an Asian man, the comment becomes... racist? Bigoted? Whatever the proper term, it made me uncomfortable. All in all, I read this because I'm a completionist.

Josh Chen is freaking hot. The spicy scenes in this book are not for the faint of heart... HOT HOT HOT. The spice level and steam in this book are astronomical, however the plot of this book is my least favorite in the Twisted series.
