This book is about a bunch of bad rich people doing bad rich people things and I ate it up! Set around July 4th, so I read this at the perfect atmospheric time of year to get the most out of it. Highly recommend for a quick summer read with all the rich people drama you need.

I recently had to put my kindle on airplane mode for some light library-theft, and felt motivated to chip away at my kindle graveyard since I've been reading so much frontlist. Decided to read this, which I put on my TBR in 2023 and had heard of through one of my newsletters, consumed on kindle.
This book is gossipsy fun if you enjoy an "I love mess" sort of story, very much rich-people-behaving-badly. Mostly everyone is kind of a bad person, which helps the reader to not feel too badly for anyone. You learn at the beginning that someone has died, and I felt like I barreled through this book until we learned that person's identity and then I did not really care as much anymore. Overall, though, I had fun reading this in a voyeuristic, eating-popcorn-while-people-ruin-their-own-lives sort of way. a perfect beach read/ airplane book.
