Rather a collection of vignettes than an actual story, the book doesn't really go "anywhere", sometimes even within a chapter, but that's hardly a problem when the point itself is to highlight some amusing tales from the author's experience with his cats, elevated by his horror-artist approach and sensibility, turning the humour surprisingly loopy. What's more, these are some of the cutest drawn cats I've seen, so even when one doesn't appreciate the horrory vibe to the comedy, one can appreciate the author's love of the feline form.
Due to its uniqueness, cuteness, and the fact I'm more of a cat person than a dog person (with a love for horror), this is a surefire inclusion amongst my favourites.

a short manga by famous horror mangaka, juno ito, about his domestic life with his two cats. this made me laugh out loud soooo many times. he’s so reknowned for his horror, but he actually has such a knack for impeccable comedic timing and set up. the juxtaposition of his dark, atmospheric horror art style with unexpectedly silly and humourous anecdotes about his cats was so damn good. a really charming and heartwarming read, with a surprisingly emotional final chapter and an extra about the 2011 earthquake. itll be a fun cute read for anyone, i think to fully enjoy this, you prob have to be a cat lover!
