I hate to say that I was underwhelmed. Like the actual writing was beautiful and I liked the lore they added to pixie hallow but… it just wasn’t what I think it COULD have been.
It really felt like the ending was shoehorned into making the ending happy while also keeping with the lore that that was set up in the movie and it’s just didn’t go well.
Milori’s wings breaking was treated so casually and it kind of upset me. Like she showed significantly more emotion about Petra was put to sleep than she was about Milori sacrificing an actual limb and nearly dying for her! Like it gets brushed off so casually, and it not treated like the horrific tragedy it is! She more upset about TINKERBELL breaking her wing than she was about Milori! He deserved to have is sacrifice treated with the levity it deserved and it just wasn’t.
The story when it was its own thing was really good, but as soon as they tried to be true to the movie lore they lost it becasue they refused to treat this story like the tragedy it is. Their story was not bittersweet, they were a tragedy and they deserved to have that shown!
So yeah, over all I just wanted it to be… more than what it was. I wanted it to live up to its potential and it just didn’t.

This is the story of Clarion and what happened to her just before she became Queen of Pixie Hallow. In this book we get the love story of Clarion and Milori (the lord of winter).
Clarion isn’t sure she will be a good Queen she can’t seem to control her governing magic. She also hates the feeling of loneliness that her future holds for her. How can she be a good queen when she just wants to be among the other fairies and be normal?
A darkness has come to pixie hallow and threatens her subjects. Clarion can’t just sit still and not do anything so she sneaks out to investigate and ends up in the winter woods and meets Milori. Together they decide to protect Pixie Hallow. Follow along on their adventure.
I highly recommend this book for tinkerbell fans and those who watched the movie Tinkerbell and the Secret of the Wings and wanted more of Clarion and Maliri’s story.

Plot: Very fast-paced. Reads like you're watching. a Pixie Hollow movie. High stakes but still PG. It felt like it was written for a bit of a younger YA audience but is still enjoyable for an older audience, especially for nostalgia.
Writing: The writing was beautiful and captured the essence of Pixie Hollow, but there were some world-building things that took me out of the story. There were just a few instances where the size of the fairies and their level of technology felt inconsistent.
Romance: The romance between Clarion and Milori was very sweet and cute, but it felt a little rushed just because the pace of the story was so fast. It was definitely appropriate for a younger YA audience.
I could not put this book down! If you liked the Pixie Hollow movies as a kid or are still a fan you need to read this! If you aren't familiar with the world, it might be a little more difficult to understand how things work.

this is so nostalgic and awesome i have to give it a 5 stars. sure the pacing was a little slow and sometimes things wrapped up a little too neatly (where i was like huh it only took you one try to do that?). but the romance was so sweet and i loved returning to pixie hollow after all of these years.
