It started off strong, I was actually into it at first, since I usually love mysterious, silent types like Creighton. But after a while, he started to feel more annoying than intriguing… sometimes even kinda cringe. And Annika? Liked her even less.
The series is still solid overall, but since each book focuses on a different couple, some just don’t hit the same, and this one didn’t do it for me.

It’s been torture.
I didn’t even finish — stopped at 80% after skipping a lot of pointless dialogue and thought, why bother?
The relationship between Annika and Creigh is bland af. I seriously can’t believe someone can go from a 17yo virgin to an 18yo BDSM expert without any prior intimate experience.
The characters are childish to. I can’t deal with the group chats and the Instagram posts. I hated the presence of the parents in the book, it just made the mcs feel even more immature.
I was so curious about Creigh because of his “don’t give a fuck” attitude, but I ended up completely disappointed. I was bored out of my mind reading this.

“I feel her everywhere, in my bloodstream, on my flesh, and down to that forbidden nook in my heart.”
This was a series of books recommended over and over again as dark romance like the LORD series. I loved this series despite its wild shenanigans much more than the LORD series but it still has some morally black characters. So don’t go in thinking it will be sunshine and rainbows lol. This is not a pitch black book by any means but definitely read your trigger warnings.

This story centers on Creighton and Annika and you can read as a standalone but you get a lot more out of it if you read God of Malice first. I didn’t love their story as much as Killian and Gwyn but there is a lot more drama. I was super mad about how their friends treat Annika after “the incident” because any of them would have chosen their sibling over their loved one in a life or death situation, except maybe Gwyn with Landon lol. THe things I did like in this book were hints at other relationships particularly Nikolai and Bran being hinted at .
I would still recommend the series and I am curious about the rest of the series as we get to know the characters much more in depth in their books. This one has even more trigger warnings than Book 1.
"Creighton King is the first person who's eaten her food willingly and even compliments her for it.”
