I wanted this book to be great because it came highly recommended, but it was just ok. I found the narration frustrating to follow. One reason for that could be that I read this is short bits as I had time over about a month. This might be one of those books that is best read in very few sittings in order to have a stronger continuity of the story.

I wouldn't bother obtaining this book if you are interested in it, because it's just not that good. If, however, it is given to you, then take the time to read it.

One enduring lesson from the book is that it is easy for us to take significant people for granted--in this case, mom--and it is a reminder to care for those you love.

This was one of those books that made me reflect upon my own life and relationships, wondering what have I overlooked or taken for granted. The translation was well done,and the writing was simple and moving.
