Really enjoyed this trilogy. The writing was a little dense at times, but the characters were captivating.

A great conclusion to this series. El is such a great protagonist, I think she was wonderfully candid and hilarious while also able to perfectly articulate the lasting effects of feeling like an outsider.
I think the pacing was great and as always with Novik, the magic system was wonderful and only got better as it was more fully explored in this final instalment.
The friendships were really great, the further exploration of Liu and Aad were simply the best and Liesel was an unexpectedly great addition. As has been the case with the other books, I would have liked more on Orion because the reason i cared about him was because El did and less so in his own right.
I was very nicely satisfied by the endingthe twist of the prophesy was great and I didn’t expect it at all, I thought the maw-mouth plot line was really great and very compelling
I love the seemingly consistent presence of nature and the folk inspiration that seems to run through all Novik’s work, it always gives her work a comforting softness that I really adore
Overall, I was sad to finish this series— I really enjoyed it and will officially read anything by Naomi Novik

I really enjoyed this trilogy but who ever thought that 30-50 pages per chapter is okay, like go to hell

What a brilliant way to tie all the story together.
It’s indirectly a commentary on power, peace and the catch 22 of priviledge. Really well done.
I’ll be sad to leave this world and magic system behind.
El’s character is surely a bit too OP though and Orion’s storyline though interesting got tied up too quickly at the end…too conveniently.
All in all, very clever and hard to put down!
