Loved this book, finished it in one sitting and I loved knowing what was going on in Four's world before and during Tris and his thoughts during key moments of the first novel. I definitely did not want it to end, can't believe it's over now. So much love for Veronica. <4

‘Het verhaal van Four’ is een verhaal waarbij Veronica Roth zich vestigt op het standpunt van Four. Het is dus een boek die hoort bij de ‘Divergent’ serie en die een volledig nieuwe blik werd op deze serie.

I read and reviewed each of the novellas collected here separately, so this is basically just for my own records. On the whole, I like Roth's shorter work in this universe a lot more than her novels - the shorter pieces tend to have a greater focus on character and less of the problematic worldbuilding. That said, I think it's also true that I find Four a more appealing character than Tris, or at least I do when he's the protagonist, as he is in this mini-series. In the novels, he struck me as a bit boring and a bit obnoxious, but in the shorts he's a lot more introverted and a lot more thoughtful, which is generally the type of character who appeals to me more than any other. I don't think I'll be reading any of the Divergent books again, but if I had to it would be this one.
