I actually really liked listening to the book especially with the cast from the show. Liked it so much that even pre-ordered the paperback addition so can enjoy it again.

Kind of a mixed bag for me, this book.
From the perspective of a critical role fan and someone who likes Laudna as a character as well as her struggle in C3 this is a neat little read for in between
The Problem however is that essentially nothing really happens in the story. Laudna just...traverses from one place to another meeting people that disappoint and hate her.
If you don't like this type of book and you don't have a particular interest in Laudna, this is not a book for you.
What I really liked however was how Paté was integrated (for the brief time he was) and I loved the way the last part of the Epilog was written <3
so, in my biased state, this book receives 4 stars (which would have otherwise been 3.5 but...you know there are no half stars and when in doubt and if deserving you may give a better rating)
3.5 stars however will remain my as much as possible unbiased review. It was a slightly above average book for someone who would not be a fan of Laudna and knows nothing about critical role's 3rd Campaign.

Love the Laudna story so I was eager to eat this up. Happy to see Marisha reading the Laudna parts and Grey DeLisle on the Delilah ones. Also Robbie Daymond 👌
Like any other Laudna story it’s all about the progress and regress and trauma associated with her past and present circumstances. I enjoyed reading about people she meets along her journey and how they affect her and her state of mind.
Fuck the gods and fuck Delilah
