Unfortunately I have not read this particular Gaiman’s short story but the graphic novel adaptation was sweet and charming!

This is one of my favorite short stories. I love the juxtaposition between the mundane and fantasy. The routine and the extraordinary.

I love Mrs. Whitaker being exactly who she is, knowing what she values in her life, being intentional with her space, and not allowing expectations to override that.

If you like LaVar Burton—definitely let him read it to you on his podcast “LaVar Burton Reads,” episode 7, 2017.

This was such a charming read. I found the graphic novel copy in my local library and it was such an enchanting, sweet read. It has a strange premise but it's executed with such humour and even though short you find yourself quite attached to the characters involved.
