All I can say is why should I care?

The character ended being boring, I kept waiting to feel some attachment to them but no, the story simply isn't engaging.
Can you tell the time switches are thousands of years apart? If didn't read the header? Probably not.

I started and stopped reading this book twice simply because I told myself I wasn’t smart enough to understand the thousand year time jump. Which is dumb, I am in fact smart enough. ANYWAYS the point is this book was lit. I really like the villain origin story aspect of this although it did mess with me a bit to realize that it would take the whole series to get to the prologue ending. Usually books that give you the conclusion on the prologue bring you there by the end of the first book, that is not the case. Also don’t know why the aspect of time travel fucked me up when there’s a thousand year gap. Long story short time is confusing but this book was great.

Fighting to save friends and allies was one thing. But fighting for the world was not a task she appreciated having dropped in her lap.

The story is entertaining, but it didn't capture my attention as much as I hoped it would. I will continue the series cause it is interesting and I want to know what happens with the characters. Im hoping my my opinion will change cause I heard amazing things about this series and I really want to like it.

I liked this book over all, was trying to rush through it because my library copy was due. But the characters and how things connect was pretty interesting, there was elemental magic which is always fun. Will definitely re-read when I am ready to read the second book.
