This book is one helluva ride. Switching between the perspectives of two formidable women, it was never easy to put this book down, and I loved it.
Read my full review at The Wolf's Den
I wouldn't call the ending a major cliffhanger, but there's definitely a lot still left to resolve. Rielle's story hasn't yet caught up to the prologue (and I assume not everything is as it seems), and there's a war on the horizon. And Eliana's story is veering off in a new direction entirely. If I didn't already love this book, I'd be pissed at it pulling me into another incomplete series. I eagerly await Ms. Legrand's next installment.

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG
I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK!! I love seeing Rielle and Eliana’s Story and watching how they intertwine with each other.
I also love seeing Simon and Eliana bicker a lot, that was awesome.
And Rielle and Audric and the plot twist at the end was epic and everything was so beautiful and I loved it so much. So much. I need the sequel. NOW!!

2nd time reading this book
I decided to reread this book for the sequel Kingsbane and after further reflection, I decided to drop my rating from 5 stars to 4 stars. Rereading this book I noticed some things that I wasn’t that fond of in this book but overall, I really really enjoyed it and I’m super excited to jump right into the sequel.
WRITING (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
Claire Legrand has one of my favorite writing styles. Everything I’m reading is just described in a way that can suck me in and it feels like I’m watching a movie which is something I really liked. My favorite part of the book we’re the passages at the beginning of every chapter. I think they added a nice touch to the story and it was really interesting to see how they were connected to the chapter.
PLOT (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
The plot is also really interesting. I loved seeing the two different perspectives and how they were connected. I think for the most part, I enjoyed Rielle’s chapters more. I just love book that have like trials or tasks that the main character has to solve and that was a main part of her storyline. The ending of the book was also interesting, seeing everything get revealed at the same time which left me completely shook (Jungshook
