Miscarriage, death in child birth

I am a huge huge Jenny Colgan fan. I was looking for a
Cheerful Christmas story and wow-this was not it. It was depressing and stressful up until the final 20 pages. I appreciated elements of the story and, as always, Jenny Colgan shares incredible descriptions and I felt like I was there in tiny Lipton. Perhaps if it wasn’t billed as a Christmas story, I would have been less disappointed.

After reading the previous 2 novels in this series in 2 days and adoring them, I immediately ordered the 3rd one. It felt different to the first 2 but a lovely read nevertheless
