A really timeless analysis of generational differences and communication barriers (topical huh!)

You know you've written an effective piece of social commentary when it pisses off everybody upon release and still possesses a broader relevance, with regards to generation tensions and social revolution vs. conservatism, to this day.

Packs a huge punch for being such a quick read. I’d almost categorize it as something of a philosophical novel, à la Camus or Murdoch, which I have a soft spot for. It’s also one of those books that I imagine every “generation” (however you define it) finds and thinks how similar the complaints, debates, and ideologies are to their own time.

I need to read some more Turgenev now.
