I’m very apprehensive of Indigenous YA fiction because unfortunately I think a lot of authors limit their Indigenous characters and stories to trauma reflections and narratives. This book essentially did the same thing. It was an easy read but it was not captivating enough for me to read the sequel.

Excellent addition to YA Dystopian fic, I had to read this one after sitting in on a lit circle discussion group in which they absolutely raved about it. Will definitely be recommending it for future classes.
