this is phenomenal. i’ve read it a few times and every time it is just as good if not better. it portrays the way women’s health was constantly downplayed by misogynistic men. the deterioration of the main characters mental health is haunting. i think everyone should read this.

I only read the story itself and an explanation from the author about why she wrote it. I suspect I'd get more out of it if I had a copy with a meaty foreword, but as it is, I appreciate that it's an important piece which helped bring the conversation about women's mental health to the forefront. Short but unsettling.
