the uncertainty of whether the condition of the room could be the narrator's doing or not kept me on the edge of my seat up until the end. the yellow wallpaper itself likely containing arsenic and speeding along the main characters deterioration hurts my heart so much. truly a testiment to how women's mental health was and often is still treated now.
an absolutely heartbreaking book. beautiful.

A beautifully writen tragic story about mental health and sexism. Learning that it was written about the author's own experience made it more powerful.

I think I was expecting something more intense/ dramatic to happen at the end.

This book is incredible for the impact it plays on women’s health and function as full individuals. As a woman reading it I was unsettled and frustrated throughout the entire piece.

I don't read many short stories, but a booktuber I like recommended this one and I really liked it! It drew me in very fast and it certainly makes you think.
This story infuriated me (in a good way) and I will read it again somewhen, but for now it has been haunting enough.
Oh, and don't shy away from reading this because you saw that this is a "horror" short story - it really isn't scary, at least not in much of a horror way. It is a little creepy though and you'll hate the patriarchy even more after reading it.

You’ll always get me with a “woman’s descent into madness” story. Feels like a must-read for any budding feminist.
More than 100 years after publication - it still hits HARD.

This book was a very confusing read for me so I had to read some paragraphs several times. The main character is definitely mad and the ending was so abrupt that it surprised me. I still recommend it though, because it's definitely interesting.
