I read the first volume of this series a while ago and couldn’t find the rest, so I was really pleased to find that the Uni manga library had them all.
This volume throws one surprise after another at you which is great. Firstly it turns out that
SpoilerRiiko’s best friend, Mika, actually never liked her and was just friends with Riiko because it made her look good. But even worse, all the boys that have rejected Riiko in the past because once Mika found out who Riika liked she moved in and stole them from her! Therefore I loved the part where Night rejects Mika in favour of Riiko.
While working as an escort Night is accidentally kissed by one of the customers and due to his programming that means he is now her boyfriend. This really upsets Riiko, but also confuses her because Soshi finally makes his move and kisses Riiko to show her how he really feels.

Although there are still a lot of kissing scenes throughout the book, there are a lot less, if any at all, risky scenes in this volume. One thing I did find was that in the black and white images it can sometimes be difficult to tell the characters apart as Riiko and Mika and Soshi and Night look very similar. Gaku is always easy to spot with his hat and tattoo though, I found it funny that everyone keeps calling him a cosplayer.
It feels like there was a lot more to the story in this volume and it has set the stage for a lot more interesting developments which I can’t wait to read.

Riiko manages to
Spoilerget Night back fairly easily in the end. However this resulted in a string of cringe-worthy attempts on Night’s part, and even worse from Gaku, to try and get Riiko to have sex with Night, so as to lock him onto her. I found it really weird when Gaku kidnapped them for three days and put them on an island. This was made really awkward by the fact that Night brought Soshi along and then got competitive with him over Riiko.

SpoilerThe trip to the Spa was no less awkward with yet another woman hitting on Night and her boyfriend hitting on Riiko. And the final awkward moment for the book was when Riiko’s parents turned up. Riiko’s Dad took an instant dislike to Night, while her Mum commented that he was her type! This is made super awkward by the fact that her Dad wants Riiko to date Soshi and Night announces that he wants to have sex with her in front of her parents.

So overall this volume was rather awkward to read, but did still have some funny moments so it receives three stars.

The ending to this volume was hysterical.

I think I stopped reading around here back when my friend showed me this series in high school. Back then, I thought having all these guys fighting over the main girl was cute and exciting. Now as a grown-ass adult, I find it really ridiculous and highly improbable. Still, Yuu Watase has a beautiful art style, cute moments and pretty funny 4th wall breaks.
I think my main problem with this volume would be adding more boys to this crazy love mess......and the fact that there are teen and adult males pressuring a 16 year old girl to lose her v-card. Dude.....she can have sex WHEN SHE WANTS TO. NOT BEFORE THEN.

Jesus.....

I've been waiting for so long (2 weeks, actually) and now I finally got all 5 remaining volumes.

This is such a fun read. Not a fan of breaking the 4th wall here, but I'm still really enjoyng this.

Oh the drama of it all! Haha

I actually love this series. It's funny and far out and sexy. It makes me feel like a teenager with it's whimsy.

I love how Gaku always shows up randomly. I watched the tv adaptations before reading the manga and I kinda prefer how Riiko is an adult in the tv adaptations vs here where she is a teenager, because it does feel a bit weird how Gaku is trying to get her to have sex with Night. He’s a bit too pushy. Riiko is being forced to decide between Night and Soshi too quickly when she’s only a teenager. Other than that I’m enjoying it so far. Night is funny and sweet as always.
