Listened to this on our road trip to Ohio (WGI 2018). It was fabulous! We were actually riveted for 6 hours! My 20 year old daughter was yelling at the car stereo "What? What is the miracle?" Haha!
Enchanting and magical and special and laugh out loud funny!

Totally by accident, I ended up listening to another audiobook narrated by Bronson Pinchot and I should just make it a habit because it was another lovely performance. Great book - MAGICAL! a truly unique circus. And devastating - Micah's relationship with his lovely grandfather is truly heartrending. I would have given it five stars if it had another female character who was positive, because other than Micah's friend, the few females were real pieces of work. Which happens. But the many male characters were all wonderful folks so it stuck out. Oh, I guess the parrot and the elephant count as female characters. And they were awesome! (It's so fun to read children's books.)
What a magical book! It reminded me of a children's version of The Night Circus. It took me sometime to get into the story because I kept getting distracted by other books. However, once I was hooked, I couldn't put it down. Beautifully written, wonderful characters and magic!
I am a sucker for modern fables.I read The Thief of Always at least a couple times a year. I love A Monster Calls. These types of stories are comfort food for my soul. This novel had the same magic for me. I loved everything about the book and words cannot adequately express how I felt reading it for the first time so I will simply say it was perfect and yes, magical.
Meh. I liked the circus though, but then again I always like anything remotely to do with circuses.
I think I'd have liked this a lot more six years ago. (when I was ten)

I was more than a little disappointed that all the women and girls were pedantic (if not altogether terrible) and generally unopen to the simple joys of magic. But the circus scenes were fun and the book had moments of the malice reminiscent of Roald Dahl novels, which I find delightful. The reader was pretty good, too.
Magical! And not a ordinary magical, but one of those great stories written with great love that warms your heart, and makes you remember things you have forgotten, makes you believe in them again! 😌🔮
This just was too much like The Night Circus the Jr. Version for me. I wanted to feel closer to the 2 main characters but didn't, because they didn't feel real to me. Okay but not amazing.
Just as wonderful the second time around--I'm hoping the sequel lives up!
Orphaned at a young age, 10-year-old Micah Tuttle lives with his Grandpa Ephraim, the person he loves most in the world. Growing up, Grandpa Ephraim told Micah captivating stories of the amazing and magical Circus Mirandus he had visited himself when he was a young boy. Now, Grandpa Ephraim is deathly ill and Micah is convinced that the one thing that can save his grandfather (and save Micah himself from the terrible fate of having to leave his home and live in Arizona with his mean-hearted great-aunt!) is a miracle from the Lightbender, the greatest magician from Circus Mirandus. The Lightbender promised Ephraim a miracle long ago--will it be enough to change fate for Micah and his grandfather?
"...and once in a while, it's good to be ridiculous and amazing." (pg. 262)
A quick and engaging read, this debut novel from author Cassie Beasley is a must-read for upper-elementary and middle school students (and their librarians, too!). Beasley gives the characters (ranging from human to animal) very distinct voices and personalities. I'd love to see this book as a Newbery winner (or, at the very least, an honor book).
