I think this was slightly better than the first book based on the romance factor alone- we finally get to the romance and storyline with the main male lead. Although the main female lead made me frustrated at times. The male is supposed to be broody but I do think she gets away with a lot considering how he has only tried to help her and only proven so over and over again. The plotline with her mother, at this point better have a decent payout. I will definitely continue to read to see what happens next.

Where do I start with this one..  I like the concept of the series and the world but too many times through out this book I felt bored. Diem is definitely not my favorite FMC mainly because she spent the majority of the book in denial and in her head about the wrong things. She is quick to rush into bargains and hell bent on holding on to the wrong people. I absolutely loathe Henri he is the absolute worst and it’s clear as day however Diem can’t see past her past even though it’s blatantly obvious she is not attracted to him and he is only interested in her for his own personal gain.
I wish there was more action, more magical growth etc. But instead we get Diem being too naive to know who is actually for and against her and her internal struggles that never end. The last 5 chapters finally got to some action and of course we get left on a cliffhanger. I’m surprisingly greatly for the slow burn romance between Diem and Luther, it’s literally what kept my interest this long.
