This was the worst possible week for me to be reading I book I really needed to pay attention to. Took me forever to finish since my head has been all over the place.

Really awesome story, wonderful characters. Loved it.

To be fair, I’m clearly not the ideal demographic for this book but there is some awesome teen fiction out there - Hunger Games, the Divergent series, the Gone series, The Maze Runner etc.

With apologies to the author, this is truly awful. I would give this half a star if I could. I got to the end by sheer masochistic stubbornness.

The characters were bad, the plot was weak, the writing style was disjointed and the dialogue was cringeworthy.

So books 2 and 3 in the series? Not a chance. I’d rather pull my fingernails off.
