I loved the blurb for this and typically really enjoy the authors work. However, for me, this book fell flat. The world building was lacking and the characters were difficult to connect to. There was too much occurring without much understanding of why I should care.
Ten was not particularly likable. She was in a bad situation ( reminiscent of Juliette in Shatter me) but instead of seeming defiant for a reason, she comes off as shiftless and bratty.
I don't know that I will read the next book.

The main character is a little too Mary Sue for me... I will probably read the next book if I see it come up next year but I hope the character development is better. The idea behind the world building is so intriguing, I just wish it had been a bit more about that instead of how desired and special Ten was throughout the book.

MINDBLOWING!!!! This book..just...sigh..gave me so much feelings!!
Loved it from the very first page until the very last, even though there are numerous moments you just want to rip your own heart out of your chest, bury it and face plant yourself next to it..
