Quick Thoughts: Overall I did like Final Girls. The actual thriller part of it is excellent. The reveals came in timely places and it didn't take long for me to get sucked into the story. I only guessed one of the twists and that made me happy. I just couldn't quite connect to the characters. In a thriller that is less important to me than story but I would have liked them to either make me love/hate them. Quincy and Sam (the two main characters) do have some things about them that drew me in but in the end I still found myself disconnected. That being said, this was still a wild ride and one I am glad I went on.
Audio Thoughts:
Erin and Hillary delivered! Seriously, their pacing, emotion, and characters were spot on. They had similar pacing so the book was like butter--seemingly moving through the story. I highly recommend this on audio. One note: because this has present and flashback scenes you need to pay attention. If these are things that you have a hard time with in audio also have a book copy so you can reference it. You are going to want the performance but I know sometimes flashbacks are confusing in audio form.

I liked this a lot! It didn’t blow my mind as far as thrillers go but it was very entertaining and the final twist was one I didn’t see coming. It does fall into the trap of many thrillers of the main character spiraling out of control (which irritates me) but Quincy has a viable reason so I let it slide

This was my first Riley Sager novel and I absolutely devoured it. The interwoven multiple timelines created a tense buildup to the finale; and despite a female lead who continuously made bad decisions I couldn't help but root for her.
