Heartbreaking and so so sad

Maddie and Flame are not a normal couple by any standards, even compared to the other Hangman they are complex and unique. Their journey was darker than most and Flame has never really healed from his trauma. So it's no surprise when he regressed to a point where even Maddie does not know how to reach him. Ash is in a dark place too. Her family is falling apart in she is in the fight of her life . It will be unpleasant to put it mildly, you will cry and it will break you darn heart. But it's Maddie and Flame and they deserve all the goodness in light in this world and I could not put it down.

Wow, not sure how to write a review for a book that completely shattered my soul. I needed tissues at page 2. Flame and Ash's back story is one of horrible abuse, physical and mental, and how that abuse destroyed them. Flame and Maddie have always been my favorite Hangmen couple. Two lost souls, who found each other, and over came so much to find true love, Maddie found her Flame and Flame found his Maddie.

This story will break you in ways you didn't think possible, however heal you in the end. I can't wait to read more.

So good! Maddie and Flame are my favorite couple. This one was heartbreaking. We obviously get both Maddie’s and Flames perspectives but for the last few books Tillie has included a third perspective and we get Ash’s in this book. I love Ash and what he is going through is heartbreaking. Can’t wait for his book!

I don’t think this is quite as good as the first just because for about 70% of this book it’s pretty bleak. Still great but I don’t feel like we got as many sweet moments from Maddie and Flame as we did in the first. Still 5 stars.

Vikings book is next and I can’t wait for more pineapple jokes.

This book gutted me. I have not cried so hard in a book as I did with this one. Flame and Maddie are my favorite. Flame believes that Maddie is lying to him and he's starting to feel the "flames" again. Flame really starts to lose it after Asher unloads on him. It's almost like his mind breaks. I won't ruin it for anyone but this book had me in tears throughout. Maddie really shows her strength in this one. She does whatever she needs to try and bring Flame back.

“Then that is who I will be to Flame—wife, soul mate, angel. It does not matter in what terms Flame refers to me. He will always be the one my soul knows. He will always be the one my heart will rely on, when it is me who needs to be saved. That is what angels do, Asher. They guide and they save. If he needs me to be his angel right now, then that is who I will be.”

Asher also had me all over the place with my feelings. He is really struggling after Slash's death and he's not handling it well. He takes out his anger on Flame and says some really hateful things that really push Flame over the edge he was teetering on.

I love these books! Hopefully, we get some more!

description

"You could never hurt me, baby. You are my salvation, my remedy, my salve. You were a dream fulfilled and a hope granted."

Flame and Maddie are my favorite couple in this series. So I was very excited when I saw that this book would focus on them again. Flame is one of the most broken, unstable, haunted and intriguing characters I have ever met. In this book the demons he silenced are back with a vengeance. They are even darker and more cruel than before. This will be his most difficult and heartbreaking fight so far. Maddie is one of the most supportive and beautiful heroines, and always has Flame's best interest in mind. However, sometimes she will have to go to extreme measures to bring Flame back. This book broke my heart but Tillie Cole mended it at the end. This was such an emotional rollercoaster, and I just couldn't keep my tears contained. Flame and Maddie already had gone through a lot, and it just was so heartbreaking to see Flame pulled back into his own personal hell.

"His flames were neither evil nor devil tainted. They were sharp bursts of redemption. Of hope. Flame was light. He was my warmth."

This is one of my all time favorite series, and I just love being reunited with all my favorite characters. I love catching up and see how they are doing. I was happy that Ash' POV was included in this book, it was a great way to see how he was dealing with everything. I love him so much and the emotional moments between him and Flame were heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Seeing Flame fight his demons was painful but very necessary, however Ash' journey is just beginning. I don't have to say much more, but if you love this series then you'll love this book as well. I just can't get enough of the Hades Hangmen, and I really hope that this series won't end for a very long time.

"You are a good man, baby. You are my universe. You are my light and my reason for living. Do you understand this, Flame?"

My Maddie is book eight of the Hades Hangmen series. This book mostly revolved around Flame, Maddie and gave you more of an insight to Asher.

This overwhelmingly brings up Flames past, like on steroids. It seemed repetitive; it honestly affected the story. I was expecting to see Flame and Maddie’s growth, not have Flame be worse off now than he was in the third book. I know healing takes time and that they wouldn’t be perfect but I didn’t expect it to be pounded into the ground by Flame’s issues. Flame even pushes Madds away and that’s the hardest pill to swallow.

Flames inner pain and need to express himself is profound, but he is unable to do so, it is heartbreaking. The chapters from his POV broke my heart, I don’t know if a book has ever made me more emotional. Especially when he tells Madds he can’t do it anymore, that breathing is too difficult for him.

I'm intentionally making this review vague as a book in a long series like Hades Hangmen with any minor details is bound to reveal spoilers. So, here we go:
I'll reveal my bias now. The Hades Hangmen characters are like family members to me after 8 books and 2 novellas, and Maddie and Flame are one of my favorite couples in the series. I loved, loved, loved this book. I am weak for Maddie and Flame's love story, and I was elated to have another book in the series dedicated to the two of them and the demons they face. There are some characters that I've grown to love and appreciate more in this book - particularly AK. His book was not my favorite, but he shines in this book. It makes sense, since AK has always been there for Flame. Their stories are frequently interwoven during the club's current events. My heart went out to a few characters that were struggling immensely in this story, and I cannot wait to read future books to see how they work those things out. I also enjoyed several funny moments, particularly from Viking. He's made me laugh out loud in the past couple of books, and I cannot wait for his book to be released this year! With Maddie and Flame, I really loved some of the symbolism making a full circle from book 3 all the way into book 8. Ash has also made his way into my heart, and I cannot say much about his journey in this book, other than I am anxious to read future books with him in them.
Flame and Maddie fans - you're going to love this one.
