This was a re-read for me! Preparing for the next book, Fate of the Sun King.

So much better the second time around! I loved it the first time, too, but there was something about knowing the characters better. And I forgot just how SPICY this was! Going from a MMC that was a golden retriever in the last book I read to Nadir who is anything BUT GR, was...whew!!

This was a much better book than the first one. It kept me reading and I'm curious how the rest of the story will play out.

Highly praised for its engaging elements of wit, humor, and tension, particularly in the 'enemies-to-lovers' relationship between Lor and Nadir. The exploration of familial bonds, especially between Lor's siblings and between Nadir and his sister Amya, adds depth and relatability. The narrative also delves into Lor's past and the history of the world of Ouranos, enriching the story. I eagerly anticipates the next installment in the series.

I cannot wait for the next book omg. The flashback chapters in this book was so good and I hope we get more background on atlas in the next one.

Three words: Spice. Spice. Spice.

Itā€™s an okay book, but it does focus on the main love story above anything else. The writing could be better. The steam took away from an actual plot line. My guess is they will end up with a ā€œfated matesā€ trope, but I found it hard to believe the main characters motivations for the relationship. Itā€™s a bit repetitive in terms of the characters, and they donā€™t really have a lot of growth. I hope the third book provides a better arc. I do love the constant cursing at comically timed moments. Not a lot of authors can get away with that.

Wow. Just wow! The first two books of this series was incredible (and itā€™s not even finished yet). It honestly reminded me a little bit of Kingdom of Flesh and Fire and I am a BIG fan. I have a feeling the third book will knock my socks off considering I couldnā€™t put down the first two books until I was done them. The plot? Perfect. The characters? Youā€™re so invested that you either REALLY hate them or REALLY love them. The third book drops March 18, 2024 (on KU) and I set a reminder in my phone already šŸ˜†

Really not that greatā€¦ continues to borrow from other series and some terrible dialogue. The main character is kinda annoying too and keeps repeating the same thoughts over and over. Started skimming towards the end. Shocked by the high reviews.

*Thank you to Nisha Tuli for an ARC, here is my honest review*

This was SUCH a great continuation of the first book! Iā€™m one of those people who love political intrigue in my fantasy books and this one absolutely delivered that and more!

Lor has survived the Sun Trials and now has to survive being in the clutches of the Aurora Prince. They hate each other but are inexplicably drawn to each other.

Lor know sheā€™s needs to find the Heart Kingdom artefact in order to secure her destiny.

I loved the dual pov and really liked the flashbacks as well! It helped to understand what exactly happened in Heart. I felt so many strong emotions reading the story and when that happens itā€™s definitely a special one.

Lor setting her boundaries and sticking to them was also a breath of fresh air! And I will say that Nadir is a consent king! The slow burn is *chefā€™s kiss*.

I cannot wait for the next installment!
