The narration was excellent and the character development was good. But, there were too many characters introduced too quickly and about 1/2 way through I got confused and wanted to quit. It would have been better with two less characters and about 200 less pages. Kept my attention, so that’s a plus.

You Are Not Alone is the third book co-written by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, and all of their books are delightfully dramatic. This one caught my attention in the beginning, and it was intriguing and mysterious in the first half. I got invested in the story easily, and I couldn't wait to see how it unraveled.
Somewhere along the line, the story started feeling very far-fetched, and I had a hard time caring about the twists by the time they were happening. I guess I was expecting it to be more sinister, and I felt a little let down. The twists felt like they were just for the sake of having twists, and this is my least favorite of the three co-written books.
I wish that the marketing of the book would have been a little more upfront about suicide being a large storyline in the book. The co-written books have very vague synopses, and usually it's intriguing, but this time, it frustrated me. This book has suicide and mental health stats at the tops of most chapters, and I just prefer to be in a certain headspace for books like this. I know my frustration affected my enjoyment of the book.
That being said, I still love these writers, and the book was still fairly entertaining. I'll definitely be checking out whatever they write next.
CW - suicide, rape, child abuse, animal death, sexual harassment, drugging
