Explored some interesting themes but overall felt too short to really dive into anything. The world building felt confusing and not very thorough, and I didn’t develop an attachment to any of the characters, and certainly didn’t feel anything for the main “romance” if you can even call it that

A rather captivating story with strong themes of otherness, exile and belonging. Short and to the point, it lacks the finesse of le Guin's later work, even if the familiar warmth of her writing is present. Hard to review, really, as I feel this should belong to a different category, being so short that the novel seems even slightly forced into simplicity.
