I really enjoyed this book. It had laugh out loud moments and was full of Christmas cheer. But it was also touching and sweet, and a reminder that things aren't always what they seem. If you are looking for an uplifting and entertaining Christmas read, this is the book for you.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Harper 360 for the ARC!

This was a cute Christmas story. I think I've read so many Groundhogs day type stories that when I found out this is what it was, I was disappointed.

It was executed very well but I think I need a break from this particular storyline.

Lighthearted, humorous, and completely entertaining, this is the Groundhog Day of the Christmas season. Beautifully written with relatable characters that capture you from the start. This is the story of Gwen Baker, and in her journey to get over a bad breakup, she finds herself on a never ending Christmas Day time loop and a path to self discovery and reconnection with family. Definitely recommend, and perfect for this time of year! Thanks to the author, publisher, & NetGalley for the opportunity to review this eBook!

50, 000 twinkling bright Christmas stars for this genuinely laugh-out-loud wonderous piece of writing that had me reading late into the night to finish it.

My husband can frequently be heard chortling to TV and radio shows playing through his headphones. This disturbance of my reading peace earns him the look, I mean why can't he enjoy it without loud guffaws that distract the rest of us? So you can imagine my mortification, and general eating of very humble pie, when I found myself constantly sniggering and outright giggling at The Christmas Wish. For the first time in a long time, I read a book, this book, in one sitting. It went beyond the question of not wanting to put it down and into the realm of being unable to put it down.

Gwen learns you can most definitely have too much of a good thing. One Christmas day with a typical dysfunctional family was manageable, and two was bearable, but by groundhog day #5 the tinsel definitely had lost its sparkle. The Baker family are the middle-class equivalent of The Royle Family complete with a crazy nan though, unlike Jim, Gwen's dad prefers a walk to a pint. Thankfully this heart-warming and life-affirming story didn't lose its shine. In an attempt to get to know those closest to her a little better, to make their wishes come true, Gwen also learnt an awful lot about herself too, like allowing herself to ask for help.

In the way of truly great British comedy, this book deals with some serious themes via the medium of humour. We touch on loss, grief, unresolved anger, sibling rivalry and trust, to name just a few, all whilst laughing, sympathising, commiserating, or fist-pumping whilst muttering "you tell him, Gwen". The situations, the conversations, and the people are so very familiar and that is where the strength of the story lies. It's also why it is so incredibly funny. We've all been tempted to hide when an unwelcome visitor calls, or indeed have hidden - haven't we? It can't just be me

I’m just a total sucker for delightful British rom-coms, and this one absolutely delivered. I lost count of how many times I laughed out loud throughout the book, and although I don’t really like to mix fantasy with could-actually-happen, I’m glad I gave this one a chance.

This book is centered around Gwen Baker, who is in the middle of an almost mid-life crisis after an incident at the job she worked so hard to get. While I loved this book's concept and ending, the beginning was a tad slow, and there was not enough romance in there for me. I love the reconnecting of childhood crushes but wish there would've been more interaction between the two.
Overall this book is great for someone looking for a quick, sweet read that focuses a lot on familial love and relationships.

3.5 stars but I’m rounding to 4 because the ending really for me. Its ending is sticking with me and I loved the message. It’s not a typical Christmas romance book which I also enjoyed. It was about building relationships with family and the character herself. I would definitely add it to a Christmas books list!
