What a brilliant book.

First of all, what actually happened?

An easy and riveting read of what the Spanish Civil War was like in Barcelona and Aragon front, though of course only from one person’s experience. Worth reading for anyone who has visited or plans to visit Barcelona, to be accompanied by the excellent Civil War tour there that is heavy with Orwell references!

Interesting account of a topic I had basically no prior knowledge of, given how complex the situation was I think Orwell does a good job of explaining it in an accessible way and shines a light on journalistic bias and propaganda.
