As always, Boo Walker does an amazing job of creating this beautiful place that you can easily imagine and hope to one day visit. I find that this book really reminds me a lot of Virgin River just because of how interconnected everyone is to each other. I love seeing how imperfect everyone is and that they all have flaws. But almost everyone in this book is trying to better themselves and become better than they were. I do think Abby and Brooks relationship was very much rushed and felt like yes she did cheat on him, but they had literally only been together like two weeks, most people would not even call each other boyfriend and girlfriend at that point. Also that teacher totally deserves jail, the things he was saying to Emilia were so icky and wrong, I was so rooting for her to spill the beans to the police and have him get arrested.

Homey, but that’s biased. Cheesy, cliche, goofy, but occasionally heartfelt.

I really wanted to like this book, but in chapter 3 there is a scene of a high-school teacher coming on sexually to a student. Not for me. DNF

This book was not the typical fast moving book I read, but it was really good. The characters were so real and believable and I enjoyed the sense of comradery among them. It reminded me that family is not just those you are related to by blood, but also by choice.
