"I hope one day we have more books to hold like mirrors and see our own normal reflected back at us."

I don't normally reference quotes when reviewing but this book had me during the dedication section with that one sentence. The actual poems were beautiful and relatable to an astounding degree. I'm coming away from this book feeling seen, appreciated, loved, and whole. If you're aro, ace, or aro/ace and looking for a really validating own voices book then this book of poems really is a great read.

I love the concept - aroace? Poems? About Artemis??? But I just wasn't convinced by the execution. There were a couple of spelling/grammatical errors, and the author relied a little too much on repetition for my taste. However, BIG points for having a contemporary, free verse style with Eileen's OWN flair instead of just building on more famous authors with similar styles.

looooove to finally see this representation!!! and some of the pieces were rly hard hitting, but i don't think it was truly my cup of tea. would still highly recommend it to those who are looking for a poetry collection which helps you understand you are enough

I really enjoyed this. This is on Kindle Unlimited if those with an account would like to read. I thought the way the author wrote was beautiful and one of the best poetry books I've read in a long time.

๐Ÿกโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿน SUNFISH & GODDESS OF THE HUNT & SUNSHINE, SADNESS, AND OTHER FLORIDIAN EFFECTS by Shelby Eileen ๐Ÿนโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿก

Previously, I'd read Soft in the Middle by Eileen, which I liked moderately. These 3 poetry collections were all very different. I liked Sunfish a lot and it resonated strongly with me, Goddess of the Hunt I appreciated only because it shed a light on aromanticism and asexuality but other than that I didn't like it and I can't even remember what Sunshine, Sadness, and other Floridian Effects was about, but it's available for free so that it's accessible so that's really cool and I think I read it and didn't dislike it at least.

I've clearly not made up my mind about Eileen's poetry yet, I'm not sure I'd pick it up again, but it was nice to give it a try!
