So I felt like this book could have been better. There was a lot of pretty sexist undertones that I didn’t vibe with. The men in the book were literally THE WORST. My whole bookclub agrees on that one.

La “tranquilla” vita di una casalinga del Sud negli anni ‘90 è fatta di pasti da preparare, camicie da stirare e figli da accompagnare. Un Book club, soprattutto se dedicato ai true crime, può essere un modo per spezzare la monotonia, almeno fino a quando non si ha a che fare con crimini (e vampiri) nella vita reale…
Guida al trattamento dei vampiri per casalinghe è un libro che vi farà sorridere per i grandi e piccoli intoppi quotidiani di una casalinga nel placido Sud degli anni ‘90; vi impressionerà per l’orrore inaspettato che si nasconde dietro l’angolo, ma, soprattutto, vi farà arrabbiare, e tanto, per il razzismo e il sessismo nascosti dietro una facciata inappuntabile.
Delizioso esempio di southern gothic contemporaneo, è una lettura che sicuramente soddisferà gli amanti dell’horror con la sua buona dose di gore, ma, alla fin fine, è anche e soprattutto un inno alle madri e al loro coraggio da parte di un autore che si è semplicemente chiesto come sarebbe andata a finire se sua madre si fosse trovata di fronte Dracula.
Consigliato.

Desperate Housewife with vampires is the best way i would describe that book. Loved it. Really great even if sometimes I wished it went a bit faster
